The 2020 Datsun redi-GO
The 2020
Datsun redi-GO will be locking horns with
the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and
Renault Kwid in the
hatchback segment.

Renault Kwid

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso
The manual transmission trim of the
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso starts at a price of Rs. 3.7 lakh (ex-showroom) whereas the
Renault KWID is available at a starting price of Rs. 2.92 lakh (ex-showroom). When it comes to automatic transmission, the three competitors fall under the same cluster, as the S-Presso starts at Rs. 4.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and the KWID starts at Rs. 4.72 lakh (ex-showroom).
So, just in terms of money, the new redi-GO will be lighter on your wallet compared to its rivals.
When it comes to engines, the 2020 Datsun redi-GO is powered by a 0.8-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre petrol engine. Renault Kwid offers the exact same engine trims as redi-GO. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is only powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine. The engine trims of the Datsun redi-GO and Renault Kwid offer exactly similar displacements- 0.8-litre petrol engine has a displacement of 799cc and the 1.0-litre petrol engine has a displacement of 998cc. Whereas the 1.0-litre engine of the S-Presso has displacement of 998cc.
Renault has held the ground in the entry-level hatch market with the Kwid. Similarly, S-Presso is the rightful heir of Alto series in Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio. However, to keep things tight and close, Datsun has priced redi-GO competitively with decent amount of features onboard.
