BENGALURU: Karnataka government will consult parents between June 10 and 12 to elicit their opinion on reopening of schools.
The minister for primary and secondary education S Suresh Kumar said all heads of government, aided and unaided schools in the city should invite parents and School Development Monitoring Committee members to give their opinion on the matter between June 10 and 12. They should be consulted on dates for reopening, how to maintain social distancing in schools and other safety measures. The minister has requested all parents to take part in these meetings and express their view.
A final decision will be taken in July, as indicated by the Ministry of Home Affairs in its latest guidelines. A further order and guidelines for schools on gathering parents’ opinion is expected during the day.
