AMU follows DU, plans to hold online open book exam for final year students
The final decision regarding the mode of the exam will be taken depending upon the situation

NEW DELHI: Following Delhi University’s decision to hold online open book exams for students, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has also decided to conduct online assessment for the final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate.
The decision was announced after a meeting was conducted by the examination committee. After the meeting, the controller of exams in AMU issued a notice to AMU deans and heads of department.
Open book examination: What does it mean?
The notice read, “In case the situation does not appear to be normal in view of COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the safety and health of the students, the university may adopt alternative modes of examination that is online or open book examination (OBE) for final semester, term, year UG and PG students of all programmes and streams along with arrears/backlog courses of previous semesters/term/year.”

AMU had earlier decided to hold the examination for undergraduate and postgraduate students from July 1.
The University of Delhi will be holding the online open book exam for students from July 1. Scores of students and teachers have expressed their opposition against the decision citing the poor internet connectivity.
