Violence, rude behaviour against corona warriors not acceptable: PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi has said that violence and rude behaviour against the corona warriors [heathcare and sanitation workers] engaged in the battle against the coronavirus "is not acceptable".

In light of the recent attacks on the corona warriors, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that violence and rude behaviour against healthcare, sanitation workers involved in the battle against coronavirus would not be acceptable.

Lauding the corona warriors and warning against violence on them, PM Narendra Modi said it is due to mob mentality that the frontline workers engaged in the battle against the Covid-19 virus are subjected to violence.

"I want to state it clearly, it is not acceptable," PM Modi said.

PM Narendra Modi said, "Due to mob mentality, those workers [safai workers, doctors and nurses] on the frontline are subject to violence. I want to state it clearly that violence, rude behavior is not acceptable."

Lauding the work of healthcare workers amid the coronavirus pandemic, PM Narendra Modi said the Covid-19 virus could be an "invisible" enemy but the "invincible" corona warriors are "sure to win the fight against it.

"The virus may be an invisible enemy. But our warriors, medical workers are invincible. In the battle of Invisible vs Invincible, our medical workers are sure to win," PM Modi said.

PM Modi was speaking at the inaugural function of the silver jubilee celebrations of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka via video conference.
