Coronavirus Live Updates: India inches closer to two lakh cases
India's case count rose to 1,90,535 in the last 24 hours, while the toll from COVID-19 stood at 5,394.

Hong Kong reports first case in two weeks
Total cases now at 1,085. Four people have died of the disease.

Australia eases social distancing restrictions
- Australia has recorded about 7,200 coronavirus cases and 103 deaths, and with new infections now largely under control, it has embarked on a three-step plan to remove the bulk of curbs by July.
- Public attractions, such as Sydney's Taronga Zoo, art galleries, museums and libraries were also allowed to reopen.
- Australia hopes removing restrictions will boost economic growth, though Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Monday said additional, targeted stimulus would be needed.
- Australia's government and central bank has pledged about A$250 billion ($167 billion) in stimulus, though the bulk of this is expected to end by September.
China reports 16 new cases
US records 598 deaths
The country's death tally is now 1,04,356. Total cases stand at 17,88,762.
USA sends Brazil 2 million HCQ doses
The decision to send hydroxychloroquine comes despite WHO warning of the drug's ineffectiveness; while no large, rigorous scientific studies have found the drug safe or effective for preventing or treating COVID-19, and some smaller studies have indicated worse outcomes from those taking the drug.

Cases in Brazil now at 5,14,849
In the past 24 hours, Brazil registered 16,409 new cases; 29,314 people have died due to the virus.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Gulf state rose to 56,910.
