Priyanka slams govt for poor facilities at Covid hospital in Prayagraj

PRAYAGRAJ: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticised the state government for lack of basic facilities for Covid patients undergoing treatment at a community health centre, Kotwa in Prayagraj.
Vadra shared a video of patients admitted to Covid Level-1 hospital at Kotwa Bani in Prayagraj complaining about lack of drinking water and other facilities along with a tweet from her twitter handle on Monday.
The video showed patients expressing their resentment in the CHC at Kotwa Bani.
She tweeted, “Prayagraj ke Kotwa Bani samudayik swasthya kendra mein maujood mariz suvidhaon ka bura haal bayan kar rahe hain (Patients at the community health centre in Kotwa Bani are sharing the poor state of facilities).”
“Zameen ki sachchai mukhyamantri ji ke prachaar se ekdam alag hai. UP mein corona marizon ki sankhya barh rahi hai. Aise mein in suvhidhaon ke haal ko sudharna bahut zaroori hai (The reality at ground is in stark contrast to the claims of the chief minister. The tally of corona patients in UP is increasing and there is need to improve the facilities),” she added.
“A video of patients creating ruckus over inadequate facilities at Covid Level-1 hospital went viral on social media. It exposed the poor condition of facilities being provided to patients,” said local Youth Congress leader Haseeb Ahmad.
“On Saturday night, a senior UPCC officer-bearer in Lucknow asked me to send videos and evidence of mismanagement and inadequate facilities for Covid patients in Prayagraj,” Haseeb added.
“I compiled all the details of Covid patients in Prayagraj, condition of hospitals, state of facilities at Kotwa CHC and SRN hospital, list of hotspots and total patients till May 26,” he added.
A day after the incident, a team of senior administrative and health officials visited the Kotwa CHC and ensured that all facilities are provided to patients.
BJP spokesman Pawan Srivastava, meanwhile, rebutted the charges levelled by Priyanka, saying, “Congress general secretary is making false claims. All facilities are being given to patients undergoing treatment.”
“BJP led state government has been tackling the crisis perfectly but Congress leader is trying to mislead the people,” he added.
Prayagraj has Covid Level-1 hospital in Kotwa, Level-2 hospital in Beli and Level-3 hospital in SRN for treatment of Covid patients.
