Share market update: FMCG shares trade higher; HUL rises 3%

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 1.48 per cent up at 29730.85.

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading higher in Monday's session.

Shares of Hindustan Unilever (up 2.83 per cent) , ITC (up 2.36 per cent) , Britannia Industries (up 2.08 per cent) , United Breweries (up 1.69 per cent) , P & G Hygiene (up 0.94 per cent) , Jubilant Foodworks (up 0.69 per cent) , Dabur India (up 0.68 per cent) , Emami (up 0.21 per cent) and Godrej Consumer Products (up 0.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 1.48 per cent up at 29730.85 around 02:17PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 248.10 points at 9828.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 898.27 points at 33322.37.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Adani Power, Tata Power, Bank of Baroda, BHEL and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
