Xiaomi has been teasing its Mi branded laptops since the last week and today, it has finally given a date to make it official. Xiaomi will be calling it the Mi Notebook series and India will get to witness its first global launch on June 11. Xiaomi is yet to reveal the models or its features but it has confirmed that the Mi Notebook will be exclusive for India and it will bring a couple of features meant for Indian users primarily.

The Mi Notebook will be available in global markets this year but India will be the first country to get it. While a few models are expected to be brought from China, there will be an India-exclusive model. Xiaomi is also hinting at "Made For India" features for these laptops. The Mi Notebook will be released in the same fashion as other recent launches Xiaomi India has held, i.e. an online launch.

Xiaomi says that the Mi Notebook is nothing like anything India has seen in the laptop segment. While it is tough to figure what's being hinted at, it seems that Xiaomi will go for aggressive pricing but won't sell it as the cheapest laptop series in India. The Mi sub-brand is reserved for premium devices from Xiaomi and the laptops will be joining it initially.

Xiaomi's Raghu Reddy had confirmed in a media interview that the Mi Notebook will initially be imported from international markets and once the demand goes up, the company will consider manufacturing it in India. Xiaomi will currently focus on the Thin & Light as well as the Gaming category in laptops, two segments that are witnessing huge growth according to the company.

A previous speculation suggested that Xiaomi might end up rebadging the RedmoBook 13-inch model launched last December as a new Mi Notebook model in India. For its first laptops, Xiaomi appears to be sticking to 10th Gen Intel processors and all the models are expected to come with SSD storage as standard instead of the slower HDD storage. The RedmiBook 13 in China also has support for fast charging and Xiaomi claims a longer battery life on a single charge.

For gamers and content creators, Xiaomi could bring the Mi NoteBook Pro series models that rely on the Nvidia MX series graphics cards. These graphics cards aren't capable of video editing but should be more than enough to handle casual games and photo editing with ease. Xiaomi could even move the Nvidia GTX 1000 series graphics cards for improved performance.

Moreover, the Mi Notebook models could come with several Xiaomi software baked in to aid connectivity with MIUI-running smartphones. Prices are expected to start north of Rs 40,000.
