Flooding caused by two dam failures in the small town of Sanford, Mich., destroyed an irreplaceable collection of about 20 Pontiac Fieros just as the owner was preparing to sell them and retire.
Fieros Forever, a small museum and shop dedicated to the midengine two-seater, was inundated May 19 by up to 10 feet of water. Sanford's village hall was picked up by the current and pushed into the Fiero shop, destroying both.

"The walls are blown out, his prize engine that was to be a centerpiece of the auction was swept away and his kit cars and Formula 1 car are scattered all over downtown," Cindy Fellows, the daughter of Fieros Forever owner Tim Evans, wrote on GoFundMe. "All cars are severely damaged."
The fundraiser reached its goal of $5,000 last week, with many of the donations to help Evans clean up coming from fellow Fiero owners. The Michigan Fiero Club was helping Evans and his wife, Linda, give away all of the parts they could salvage to anyone who could get to Sanford to pick them up.
Evans opened Fieros Forever in 2006 and planned to retire and auction all of his cars and parts in April, but he pushed that to July because of the coronavirus pandemic.
