Nine.... 3 a rally againsts police brutality sparked conversations on racial disparitites today, in the wake of the death of george floyd.
News 1's rain augustine was there, at th protest right here in lafayette and brings us the story... stand up: protests have errupted in cities across the nation, in response to the murder of george floyd, who was killed while in police custody in minianlapolis... last week..
Here in lafayette, community activists and people of all races have gathered together to demand change.

I do't want them to be killed."chants for justice filled the streets of lafayett*nat* "black lives matter" rally organizer, mark mallory says his goal is for community members to stand in solidarity, and fight to bring awareness to systematic issues.
"we must face reality that slavery, and i's afterlife, continue to animante almost every aspect of life in america," mark mallory.
Many feel racial ineqaulity is what ultimately lead to the death of george floyd and many others.

While sunda's rally remained peaceful, activists say i's time for a change.

The people of minneapolis do not stand for what happened to mr. floyd.
