Tamil Nadu man murders two over extramarital affair

MADURAI: A man murdered two men in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu on Monday over an extramarital relationship.
The deceased have been identified as P Murugan, 45, of Thumbaipatti near Melur and his friend, N Alagappan, 55.
A police officer said Murugan developed an extramarital relationship with his fellow villager A Annadurai’s wife. Annadurai had warned his wife and Murugan several times to end the relationship. But they continued with the relationship, and Annadurai decided to murder Murugan.
Around 8.30am on Monday, Murugan and Alagappan were returning home on a two-wheeler after work. Annadurai intercepted them at Ambalakarapatti. Before Murugan could stop the two-wheeler, Annadurai started attacking him with a sickle.
Murugan died on the spot with multiple injuries on of his body.
Alagappan suffered injuries on his neck and hand as he tried to save Murugan. Alagappan was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared that he was “brought dead.”
The Melur police registered a case.
