60% fall in merchant point transactions in April: Survey

There was a dip in the month-on-month transactions volume and value at merchant touch points in April 2020 due to the extended lockdown in the country. Here are some few more trends in card and digital transactions, as per the Worldline India report.

5.1 MILLION POS terminals in the country as of March 2020. Private sector banks represent about 69% POS terminal market, while public sector banks make up for 27%.
