KALYAN: Less than a month after a pregnant woman landed up in a Kalwa hospital following a false alarm, and ended up trekking 13km to her home in Kalyan, the 23-year-old delivered a baby at a private hospital.
On hearing about this, KDMC commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi arranged for a private hospital in Kalyan to carry out her delivery for free as the family is poor. The woman, whose husband is stuck in Mumbai, has alleged she was forced to walk along the railway tracks on May 5 with her three-year-old son in tow as the Kalwa hospital did not arrange an ambulance to drop her home.
