Applicants beelined in front of Tolichowki passport seva kendra on Monday.HYDERABAD: After nearly a gap of one and half months, based on ‘Ministry of External Affairs’ (MEA), the Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad resumed the passports operational services on Monday.
On Day one, the PSK authorities have issued 218 tokens to the applicants, those rescheduled their appointments. In fact, the MEA, keeping in the view of pandemic Covid-19 cases are in rise, relaxation given to the applicants, for reschedule the appointments.
The PSK authorities have followed certain preventive measures at the token issuing counters, lawns, and queue lines as part of maintain the social distance.
Security personnel are conducting thermal screening to every applicant at the entrance of the PSK and then allowing them inside to have tokens. The security also applying sanitizers and advising the applicants, to maintain social distance.
The MEA has issued an advisory that applicants have to wear masks, carry sanitizer and follow social distancing norms at PSKs during the visit. Advisory also urging the applicants to download, Aarogya Setu app, in their smart phones.
Passport operations at 14 ‘passport seva kendra post offices’ (POPSKs) working across Telangana State, still remains closed, sources in the Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad told TOI.
