
We are finally entering a phase in which offices and businesses are opening in non-containment zones after months of coronavirus-induced lockdown.
Maharashtra government has announced that film and TV production can resume in areas outside the containment zones. This has to be done, the guidelines say, with proper arrangements like the presence of an ambulance, doctors and nurses. The temperature of the cast and the crew would be duly checked by a dedicated personnel.
Pregnant women and those above the age of 65 will not be allowed on the set, since they are especially vulnerable to the coronavirus infection.
TV and film producer Ekta Kapoor has welcomed the move. She tweeted, “Would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the honourable @CMOMaharashtra UddhavJi, for considering our requests to begin work in a phased out manner by easing restrictions on films and television shooting.”

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan today tweeted that people needed to create more awareness about climate change. Bachchan posted ahead of the World Environment Day on June 5. Bollywood star Ajay Devgn has donated oxygen cylinders and two portable ventilators for a new 200-bed makeshift hospital in Dharavi, which has become Mumbai's Covid-19 hotspot. The actor made the contribution through his production house, Ajay Devgn Films Foundation, a source close to the development told indianexpress.com.
After helping thousands of stranded migrant workers in Mumbai to get back to their hometowns in buses, actor Sonu Sood has now started facilitating their return via trains. The migrants left for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in two special trains from Thane station on Monday.
Opening up about the same, Sonu Sood said in a statement, “The trains with the migrants left today from Thane to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. We have arranged meal kits and sanitisers for all our travellers. I thank the Maharashtra Government for their support. I am making sure to do everything in my capacity to help our migrants. I have pledged to not stop until the last migrant reaches home.”
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who dissolved his earlier production house Phantom Films in 2018, on Monday announced that he has established a new banned, Good Bad Films. The government of Maharashtra on Sunday gave permission to resume shooting for film and television in non-containment zones as a part of the relaxations that the state would undergo in June.
The state government has issued a 16-page long set of guidelines for producers to follow as and when they begin film and television production. The guidelines include maintaining 33 per cent crew (which will not include the main cast) on set, all staff members to carry identification cards and Aarogya Setu app downloaded on their compatible devices.

Wajid Khan of Bollywood music composer duo Sajid-Wajid, credited with albums like Dabangg and Wanted, passed away on Monday in Mumbai. He was 42. Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam, who collaborated with the duo on several albums, confirmed the news to indianexpress.com.
