Friends and teammates have rallied behind NRL star Josh Reynolds after his ex girlfriend admitted to forging pregnancy ultrasounds to 'be spiteful'.

Arabella Del Busso denied lying about three pregnancies with the West Tigers five-eighth during an interview on 60 Minutes on Sunday.

But the 30-year-old did confess to showing him false ultrasound pictures.

The NRL community expressed outrage after hearing Del Busso on air, while others said the lingerie model could have cost Reynolds his career.

Fellow footballer Braith Anasta, who retired in 2014, said watching the segment on Sunday night made him 'sick'.

He shared a picture of Del Busso to his Instagram page with a caption that read: 'What a disgrace.'

'Disgusting behaviour. It makes me sick.'

Anasta, who is a father-of-three, said he felt for Reynolds, who told the program kids are 'everything' to him and he was overjoyed at the thought of being a father.

'Poor Josh. Having children myself, I can't imagine someone putting another human through this,' he said.

Rachael Lee, Anasta's fiancee, added: 'What a horrible thing to do,' on her own platform.

Radio broadcaster Ray Hadley previously told his listeners he was 'with Josh when he thought he lost his twins'.

'He sobbed uncontrollably,' Hadley said at the time.

'This is a young man who's been to hell and back and I couldn't imagine anyone dealing with what he's dealt with in the last 12 months.

'It's just unforgivable, absolutely unforgivable.'

In 2019, Reynolds was arrested after Del Busso accused him of domestic violence. Footage of a verbal altercation between the pair was leaked to the media which appeared to support her claims.

But the 31-year-old footballer claimed she'd fabricated the entire story after he ended their relationship when he learned she had allegedly faked three pregnancies with him.

While he was eventually acquitted of domestic violence, Reynolds spent a night in jail with his career on the line under the NRL's 'no fault' stand-down policy.

Del Busso claimed she walked into the bathroom of their shared home in Sydney to find Reynolds taking naked photographs.

'[He was] stark naked, phone down at his genitals,' she said on Sunday.

The lingerie model said she grabbed Reynolds' phone from the basin before going upstairs 'hoping to see what was in the phone'.

Reynolds was seen in the video saying she 'scared the f*** out of me' and asking her to leave.

'Can you get out. Of my house. I want you out now. I want you out now or I'm going to f***ing flip it,' he said.

But Reynolds said he never took nude photos, and revealed he was sitting down while ordering food - a claim that is supported by copies of his Uber Eats history.

'I was literally ordering food. I've got evidence to show that exact time, that exact date food got delivered to my house,' he said.

Regardless of the situation, he said he was embarrassed and ashamed by his outburst.

'I'd never lay a hand on a woman. Yeah I was angry, I looked so angry in that video. But lay a hand on a woman? No way,' Reynolds said.

'That was me at my absolute worst. That 28 seconds is something I'll never be able to take back in my life.'

It wasn't until December, four months after the heated exchange, that Del Busso went to police and claimed she was physically assaulted by Reynolds.

Reynolds' lawyers alleged Del Busso only filed her domestic violence complaint hours after he sent her a text message claiming he knew about her alleged faked pregnancies.

'I know you have never been pregnant... and all the scans were made up on the internet,' parts of the text message read.

'It's emotional abuse... get out of my life otherwise the police will take action against you.'

When asked by reporter Tom Steinfort if she lied about getting pregnant, she sheepishly responded: 'I'm denying those claims'.

'Is that a no?,' Steinfort questioned, to which she replied: 'I didn't say that.

'I'm here to tell you what's actually happened. Especially with headlines, you know people think I'm a psycho, they all think I'm crazy.'

The pair met on Instagram in 2018 after a one-night-stand and Del Busso later claimed she had fallen pregnant with twins.

Despite initial concerns about having children with a woman he had just met and wasn't in a relationship with, Reynolds embraced the idea of becoming a father.

'When I got over the first period of shock natural instincts kicked in,' Reynolds said.

Reynolds announced he was expecting twins by sharing footage of his gender-reveal on social media in December 2018, and said the parents-to-be had set up a nursery.

But Reynolds' excitement soon turned to suspicion when Del Busso failed to ever show him any ultrasound sonograms.

'Every time there was a scan, there was always an excuse,' he said.

'I was going, ''you can't find a baby scan, the photos? This is a bit fishy''.'

But then at 19 weeks' pregnant, Del Busso claimed she miscarried.

'At that stage I was so into this whole relationship/baby thing. I was hurting so much. It broke me,' an emotional Reynolds said.

'It was the most exciting time of my life and I had feelings for this girl.'

Then in March, Del Busso claimed she fell pregnant, but only weeks later once again miscarried.

The couple's heartache was short-lived, and in June she was pregnant for a third time.

But Reynolds' suspicions were once again raised in August 2019 after Del Busso sent him her 12-week ultrasound scans.

'The scan she sent me was off. I went to my mates and showed them and they were like ''mate, that is not a proper scan'',' Reynolds said.

Del Busso, whose real name is Donna Preuska, claims she couldn't remember where she got the ultrasound done.

When asked by Steinfort if the scan actually belonged to her, Del Busso responded: 'No'.

'[I did it] because I was being spiteful,' she said.

Reynolds said he still wonders what became of Del Busso's alleged third pregnancy.

'That is the big question, where's this baby?,' he said. 'This is the one question I've been waiting to ask.'

Del Busso told 60 Minutes she 'terminated the baby' last December, which would have been at about six months gestation.

'Given everything that we've been through, what had happened, I couldn't deal mentally, physically. I couldn't do it,' she said.

Reynolds claimed Del Busso doctored photos, and even injected herself with IVF fertility drugs to make herself look pregnant.

Reynolds' legal team alleged in court Del Busso was never pregnant, saying they have medical documentation to prove it.

Furthermore, he claimed she lied about her mother's death, and claimed she had cancer to dupe him and other former boyfriends into giving her money.

Reynolds claims he gave her more than $4,000 after she told him her mother had died and needed money for funeral expenses.

After it emerged her mother was in fact alive, Del Busso told 60 Minutes it was the person she considered to be her mother who had died.
