Lockdown 5.0 Latest News, State Wise Tally:  Highest spike of 8,380 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours has been recorded in India. As many as 193 deaths have also been reported. Total number of cases in the country now at 1,82,143 including 89,995 active cases, 86,984 cured/discharged/migrated. The death toll has touched 5,164, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its latest update on Sunday. Addressing the nation during in May edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed people to be more vigilant as economic activities in the country are slowly opening up after over three months of lockdown. “Road ahead is a long one; we are fighting a pandemic about which little was previously known. India’s fight against COVID-19 is people-driven and country’s ‘seva shakti’ is visible in this battle. Fight against COVID-19 is also being powered by innovative spirit of our citizens,” PM Modi said. 

The Centre on Saturday issued a detailed guidelines for lockdown 5.0 calling it ‘Unlock 1.0’. It has allowed the opening of religious places of worship for public, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services, shopping malls from June 8. There will be, however, no relaxation in Containment zones till June 30.
