MANGALURU: Perceive a problem and want to give a solution you feel is the way to handle it, or just have an issue that needs to be flagged for attention of authorities concerned – then log on to www.think-india.org. An apolitical start-up of sorts, this website that former MLA Ganesh Karnik formally launched on Saturday is the brainchild of violinist Vishwas Krishna and is aimed at helping netizens brainstorm on issues and concerns to aam aadmi.
With 12 to 18 categories identified on the launch day for one to voice their opinion on, Krishna told STOI that there is no scope for any political or ideological bashing nor is it a forum for one to deify individuals and their action. This website is a forum for people to raise collective issues that society faces and thereby get the political dispensation and the bureaucracy to take note of the same and act on it for it is their prerogative to act on it, he said.
Launched with idea of generating public opinion on way the global pandemic has shaped their lives in the post-pandemic era, Krishna said website that is interactive and dynamic in nature will incorporate changes based on public feedback. Each of the issues flagged and solutions or suggestions given to the issue is up for discussion and the idea that garners the highest response will be considered as a possible solution for powers that be to consider, he noted.
Incidentally, it was necessity to close his office temporarily due to the pandemic and work from home regimen that put Krishna, student of violin maestro Vittal Ramamurthy to toy with idea of developing the website. Ramamurthy said this platform is a selfless contribution from my dear student and his team. This social platform will serve its purpose and help build a greater India on lines suggested by PM Narendra Modi for self-reliant India, he said.
Actor Raj B Shetty said the likes of Krishna have shown that not every idea should originate from a metro and it is heartening that this website with a national focus has been developed in this coastal city. Eminent musician Abhishek Raghuram said the website is a platform for Indians to flag issues the face in their surroundings and suggest solutions to bring about collective change.
