KOLKATA: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations have decided to give permission to the ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) candidates to take the remaining papers of the examination from another state, city and district where they are presently stationed which may be away from the earlier registered centres. The requests for a change in the examination centres, however, have to be formally routed through the registered school within June 7.

On Saturday, the Council chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon wrote to the heads of the affiliating schools that the decision have been taken since CISCE has received requests from respective schools and also guardians for a change of the candidates’ examination centre.

“There are several Board examinees those who have left the city or district as the CISCE suspended the examinations and before the lockdown was clamped. Now, due to the prolong countrywide lockdown, amidst an adverse situation which is still prevailing, the students can't travel and return to their respective registered centres. Thus, the Council has taken the decision which will provide relief to the students,” said a city school principal.

After receiving the requests, schools may upload them on the CAREERS portal of CISCE under the "Examination System Centre Transfer". No payment will need to be made for such requests of change of centre.

Despite making the relaxations if there candidates who are unable to take the remaining paper or examinations owing to having been adversely impacted by the COVID — 19, will be permitted to take them at the time of the conduct of the compartmental examination.

“We will soon send a detailed guideline about methods of conducting the remaining ICSE and ISC examinations to the exam centres,” said Arathoon.
