HYDERABAD: An Indian from Hyderabad has died of Covid-19 in
Saudi Arabia but the family has said despite giving a consent for his last rites to be performed there itself, this has not been done so far.
Mohammed Islamuddin Mujahid who was working for a mall in Dammam died on May 25. His family members had sent a no objection letter for the burial of Mujahid there on May 27. In the no objection letter for the burial, his wife Mahboob Begum and son Mohammed Samiuddin Mujahed, residents of Hafeez nagar, Yakutpura, Charminar also asked that all his service benefits,
death certificate, and other belongings be handed over to them.
Social worker Amjed Ullah Khan said though the no objection certificate had been sent, the burial of Mohammed Islamuddin Mujahid had not been done so far. He urged the Indian embassy in Riyadh to take up the matter with the company the deceased had been working for. He had died at
the Dammam Medical Hospital Complex. Amjed Ullah Khan said urged the embassy to speak to the employers and also ensure that the settlement amount that the deceased should get be sent to his family in Hyderabad.
