GURUGRAM: In view of the recent spike in
Covid-19 cases, the district administration on Thursday sealed 19 more areas in the city. Gurugram has 63
containment zones.
Sohna and
Pataudi blocks, which had been removed from the containment list, now have three areas — two in Pataudi and one in Sohna — that have been sealed.
The order said the number of buffer zones is same as that of containment zones. Kendriya Vihar, which houses several residential apartments, and commercial areas like Vatika Tower and Suncity Business Tower have been put in the buffer zone list.
“The offices in the commercial areas falling in the buffer zone such as Vatika tower and Suncity business tower will be allowed to open,” said Amit Khatri, deputy commissioner.
According to the ministry of health and family welfare, the adjoining blocks of the affected district or rural districts of the affected city (containment zones) will be considered as the buffer zone.
While 43 areas have been retained from the previous list, one containment zone, covering Dev Jewellery Shop, Ashok Vihar, Nandhi Dham, Chotu Ram Chowk, has been removed.
