CHENNAI: Two doctors have donated three lakh
Vitamin C and
zinc tablets to police personnel and media professionals in Chennai. As many as 28,000 police personnel in the city received the
tablets which would build their immunity against Covid-19.
Dermatology and cosmetology doctors Muthulakshmi and Vajra Raj handed over the tablets to Adyar deputy commissioner of police P Pakalavan, T Nagar deputy commissioner of police Ashok Kumar and to media professionals, through the Chennai Press Club.
Each policeman received one strip (10 tablets) of Vitamin C and zinc tablets. Dr Vajra Raj also plans to distribute two lakh tablets to conservancy workers and other poor people, who are more prone to contracting
coronavirus.
On Thursday, Chennai city police commissioner A K Viswanathan distributed 1,000 masks made of ‘vettiver’ (a root) to police officials at the commissioner’s office. The masks were made by Elite Group of Companies.
Also, 4,000 traffic policemen, who are on duty, were provided with energy drinks and prickly heat talcum powder. These were handed over to police officials by Durai Foundation and Tamil Nadu Police Friends Forum coordinated by DGP Prateep V Philip.
