Cabinet Secy Reviews Covid-19 Response in 13 Worst-hit Regions | Cabinet Secretary held a meeting with Municipal Commissioners, District Magistrates of 13 COVID-19 hit cities to take a review of the situation. Chief Secretaries of all States and Union Territories concerned attended the meeting. The 13 focus cities are Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi / New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Thane, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata / Howrah, Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Jaipur, Jodhpur, Chengalpattu and Thiruvallur (Tamil Nadu).
Containment Zones to be Geographically Defined | The central government has called for containment zones to be geographically defined based on factors like mapping of cases and contacts and their geographical dispersion. This would enable in demarcating a well-defined perimeter and enforcing the strict protocol of lockdown.
Speed Up Process for Safe Travel of Migrants: SC | The Supreme Court has asked states to speed up the process of sending migrant workers back to their home. It directed states to make sure all labourers are registered and travel safely by train or bus services. It called states to ensure all migrants found walking to be given food and shelter immediately.
Migrants to Not be Charged for Travel: SC Tells States | The Supreme Court said that the states must take the burden of travel fares amid the Covid-19 lockdown in the country. Stranded migrant workers shall be given food and water by the states at the bus/train station or terminal. Railways will provide meal and water during the journey.
SC Order on Migrant Crisis Amid Covid-19 | The Supreme Court has addressed the plight of migrant workers amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown in the country. The court accepted that there has been several lapses in the process of registration, transportation, food and shelter for the migrants across the country and It said difficulties faced by the migrants including having to wait for weeks to get back home and forced to proceed on foot despite registering are "concerning" factors.

Delhi HC Allows Shifting of Foreign Nationals in Markaz Case | Delhi High Court has allowed shifting 955 foreign nationals to alternate places of accommodation related to Nizamuddin Markaz incident. The court has said that all foreign national will be shifted from quarantine centres to nine designated places. Tablighi Jamaat will be responsible for their food and other daily needs.

Cabinet Secretary Conducts Covid-19 Review Meeting | Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba today held a meeting with Municipal Commissioners, District Magistrates of 13 Covid-19 hit cities, and Chief Secretary of all States/Union Territories. The meeting bears significance as these 13 cities are considered to be the worst Coronavirus affected locations and constitute about 70 per cent of the positive cases in the country. The measures taken by the officials and the staff of the municipal corporations for the management of Covid-19 cases were reviewed in the meeting. The central government has already issued guidelines on management of Covid-19 in urban settlements.
