LUCKNOW: A migrant who had returned from Mumbai and his four
family members living in Darogakheda area of Sarojininagar tested
positive for novel
coronavirus infection on Wednesday, two days after a guest living with them since May 16 was diagnosed with Covid-19.
Station house officer, Sarojininagar, Anand Shahi said, "The area in 250 metre radius of their house in Darogakheda has been barricaded. No entry, exit will be allowed till further orders. Essential supplies will be provided by the administration."
After the guest was found positive on Monday,
health officials sent samples of all eight members of the host family and their four neighbours for test.
Health officers said that the guest had come to Lucknow with the 35-year-old migrant worker on May 16 and was having
influenza like symptoms since then.
He got himself tested at a private lab on Sunday and the report received next day found him positive following which health officials sent samples of all eight members of the host family and their four neighbours for test.
Five of them, including the migrant worker, his father (70), mother (65) and two brothers, tested positive.
Chief medical officer Dr Narendra Agarwal said, "The elderly are symptomatic and the other three patients are asymptomatic. All of them have been admitted to the King George's Medical University."
