Share market update: Media shares climb; ZEEL surges 9%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading higher in Thursday's afternoon session.

Shares of Zee Entertainment (up 9.49 per cent) , Network 18 Fincap (up 3.85 per cent) , Jagran Prakashan (up 3.18 per cent) , PVR (up 2.91 per cent) , TV18 Broadcast (up 2.86 per cent) , Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 2.59 per cent) , Inox Leisure (up 1.44 per cent) , DB Corp (up 1.1 per cent) and TV Today Network (up 0.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Media index was trading 3.44 per cent up at 1176.3 around 02:55PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 152.80 points at 9467.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 519.96 points at 32125.18.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, BHEL, Motherson Sumi, SBI, Axis Bank, Zee Ent., ICICI Bank, Federal Bank and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
