Noida Covid hospital with 168 beds likely to be ready by June 15

Noida: Work to convert the Sector 39 new district hospital building to a Level-2 Covid-19 hospital is likely to be completed by June 15. The Rs 17 crore project undertaken by Tata Projects Limited (TPL) in a private partnership model will include setting up of infrastructure and facilities, including beds, laboratories, ventilators and X-ray machines.
Of the 168 beds that the facility will have, 20 will be for the ICU, 10 for the HDU (high dependency unit), there will be 130 isolation beds and eight emergency beds.
The district health department will provide manpower to the facility and a list of 56 staffers has been prepared.
The first floor will have the ICU and emergency rooms and the fifth and sixth floors will be for symptomatic and serious Covid patients. CT scan, laboratory and X ray rooms will be on second floor and a blood bank will be set up on first floor. All equipment will be provided by Tata Trust.
“Some changes are being made to make it a Level-2 Covid hospital. These mostly include, keeping a certain distance between beds and isolation measures. The minimum distance between beds has to be about 2 m,” said a TPL engineer. “We started work about 10 days back and expect to complete it by June 15. As soon as we hand it over, Tata Trust will start supplying equipment and beds.”
Dr Deepak Ohri, the chief medical officer, Gautam Budh Nagar, told TOI: “There is a requirement of 112 medical staff members, including doctors, nurses and ward attendants. We have drawn up a list.”
Treatment of Covid patients will continue at SSPHPGTI in Sector 30, the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) and Sharda Hospital in Greater Noida.
