BSP ex-MLA’s brother shoots wife

Ghaziabad: The brother of a former BSP MLA allegedly shot his wife dead late Tuesday night over her objection to his second marriage.
According to police, the accused was arrested from his house in Muradnagar’s Kacchi Sarai which is located inside the former MLA’s compound.
“Aas Mohammad is the younger brother of former MLA Wahab Chaudhary and has several criminal cases, including murder charge, registered against him,” a police officer said.
The woman, identified as Sahana (38), married Mohammad around 20 years ago and te couple have three children. Six months back , Mohmmad had married another woman, identified as Tabassum.
“The crime took place around 8.30pm on Tuesday. Hearing the gunshot, locals gathered at the spot and found the woman lying in a pool of blood. She was hit by a bullet in the head and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead,” the officer added.
Initially, Mohammad expressed ignorance about the case but soon confessed to the crime.
SP (rural) Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said a dispute had been going between the accused and his wife for a long time over his second marriage. “Aas Mohammad has confessed to his crime. During interrogation, he attributed the domestic feud as the reason for shooting his wife. We have recovered a country-made pistol and live cartridges from his possession,” Jadaun added.
An FIR was registered against Mohammad, his son Aahad, distant relative Sameer Ansari and Tabassum under IPC sections 302 (murder), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) at Muradnagar police station.
“While Mohammad was arrested soon after the crime, others are on the run. The complaint was lodged by Mohammad’s daughter Tuba,” the SP said, adding that Sahana for past some months was living in Bulandshahr and had returned to Muradnagar just a week back.
