FALL RIVER - Fall River is reporting 17 new coronavirus cases, for a total of 1,233. As well, Mayor Paul Coogan reported two additional deaths, bringing the total to 35.

Coogan shared a graphic that showed how Fall River compares to other cities in the commonwealth.  New Bedford has 1,756 cases, Taunton 894 and Brockton 3,961. As well, New Bedford is reporting 68 deaths.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirmed 93 new COVID-19-related deaths across the state Thursday, bringing the state's total to 6,640.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 94,895 after 675 new cases were reported by state health officials on May 28.

Several key indicators for the state continue to trend downward. The seven-day weighted average of positive tests was 8.1%, down from 16.7% on May 1. As well, the three-day average of deaths is down, and in fact down 65% since April 15. The three-day average of COVID-19 patients who are hospitalized is 2,109, down from 3,707 on May 1.

To date, 562,323 tests for the novel coronavirus have been conducted in Massachusetts after 10,179 new tests were reported Thursday. Fall River is reporting 8,741 people have been tested; New Bedford is reporting 9,121 people tested; Taunton 9,351; and Brockton 13,555.

State health officials said about 2% of all coronavirus patients are currently hospitalized.

Charlton Memorial Hospital is reporting 76 coronavirus patients, with 23 in the ICU; Morton Hospital is reporting 29 patients, four in the ICU; St. Luke's is reporting 45, with 10 in the ICU; and Saint Anne's has zero patients.

Roughly 62% of the deaths reported statewide occurred at long-term care facilities as of Wednesday, according to state health officials.

State health officials said 59,565 Massachusetts residents have been subject to quarantine since the COVID-19 outbreak began and 46,354 people have completed quarantine as of May 27.
