A swimming coach accused of sexually assaulting nine young girls has arrived at court without his parents, who had supported him at every other court appearance.

Kyle Daniels, 21, from Mosman on Sydney's affluent North Shore, faces a string of charges relating to girls aged between six and 11.

At the last hearing Daniels had flashed a smile, but on Wednesday the 21-year-old looked downcast outside of Downing Centre District Court.

He walked into the court alone with both his mother and father conspicuously absent being highly visible at previous appearances.

The alleged offences relate to his nine-month employment at Mosman Swimming Centre and the charges include nine counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10.

Daniels has been supported by his parents at court appearances since his arrest in March last year.

The University of Sydney student told a court in December he was pleading not guilty to all of the 26 charges he faces.

His alleged victims will present their testimony across six hearings ahead of his October trial, on April 20, May 27, 28, 29, and June 1 and 2, the court previously heard.

Due to the young girls' ages - which range from six to 11 - counsel were given instructions on how to cross examine the children.

One alleged victim's testimony is expected to take up an entire day as she will need to take regular breaks throughout her interview due to her nerves, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The court previously heard another victim has been given permission to hold a toy during cross-examination to help calm her down, and another will be given pictures to colour.

Meanwhile, Daniels had 33 further charges against him withdrawn in September last year.

Prosecutors said they saw no chance of a conviction for charges relating to one of the girls allegedly involved in the case.

A spokeswoman for the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions said: 'A determination was made that there were no reasonable prospects of conviction in relation to one of the ten complainants.

'As such the charges in relation to that complainant were discontinued.

'The charges in relation to the remaining complainants were streamlined, with the criminality of the alleged offending covered by the remaining charges.

'The defendant is currently charged with 26 offences (with three of those charges being alternative offences), and these charges relate to nine complainants.'

His bail continues.
