CHANDIGARH: The
Haryana government has directed all the deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure that international travellers arriving in the country remain in institutional quarantine for the first seven days after which they will be eligible for home quarantine for the next seven days.
Apart from this, the DCs have also been instructed to follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHF&W) in letter and spirit.
Giving further details, an official spokesperson said that an office memorandum has been issued in this regard by the chief secretary-cum-chairperson
Haryana State Executive Committee.
He said that if there is no adequate home quarantine facility, the concerned deputy commissioner in consultation with the chief medical officer of his or her district may retain such a passenger for a further period of seven days at the designated institutional quarantine facility.
As per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare before boarding, all travellers shall give an undertaking that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days – 7 days paid institutional quarantine at their own cost, followed by 7 days isolation at home with self-monitoring of health.
Only for exceptional and compelling reasons such as cases of human distress, pregnancy, death in family, serious illness and parents accompanied by children below 10 years, as assessed by receiving states, home quarantine may be permitted for 14 days.
The spokesperson said that Dos and don’ts shall be provided along with the ticket to the travellers by the agencies concerned and all passengers shall be advised to download
Aarogya Setu App on their mobile devices.
At the time of boarding the flight or ship only asymptomatic travellers will be allowed to board the flight or ship, after thermal screening. Passengers arriving through the land borders will also have to undergo the same protocol and asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to cross the border into India.
Self-declaration form in duplicate shall be filled by the person in the flight or ship and a copy of the same will be given to Health and Immigration Officials present at the airport or seaport or land port. The form may also be made available on Aarogya Setu App, he said.
