* PTIUpdate at 4pm: The Haryana government has sent nearly 2.90 lakh migrant labourers in 77 special trains and 5,500 buses to their native states, an official said on Tuesday.
* Update at 2.30pm: People who want to return to Himachal Pradesh by air or train will not be required to take permission from the state government as airline ticket, boarding pass and train ticket will be a valid document for movement beyond the airport and railway station. It will be mandatory to download Aarogya Setu app before boarding the flight or train or entering the state.
* Update at 2pm: An analysis of Covid-19 data has revealed that average cases in the first week of lockdown 4.0 in Haryana is much higher than the 14-day period of lockdown 3.0.
* Update at 1.30pm: Marriage palaces, wedding planners or those running related businesses may be staring at massive loss due sudden drop in solemnization of marriages because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but the Punjab and Haryana high court is still a safe haven for runaway couples. Around 20-25 runaway couples from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh are approaching the high court daily, apprehending threat to their lives from their family and relatives for choosing their life partners.
* Update at 12.50pm: In view of Article 21 of the Constitution, which provides for protection of life with human dignity to every citizen, it has been directed that the UT Chandigarh is bound to give low-rental houses and food to women and children living in colonies.
* Update at 12.22pm: The Chandigarh municipal corporation is monitoring the movement of 549 street vendors, who were issued passes and allotted specific areas in the city for selling fruits and vegetables. Apart from checking their identity cards and verifying their allotted areas, seven teams deputed by the civic body also listen to their grievances and try resolving the same with the help of officers concerned.
* Update at 11.18am: It has been almost six months since the vendors were shifted to Sector 15, Chandigarh, and were allotted a designated space to carry out their business. The vendors have, however, claimed that change in the place had earlier affected their work, and now the coronavirus pandemic has burnt a hole in their pockets.

* Covid-19 tests carried out so far in Haryana were to cross 1-lakh mark as the number of collected in the state hit 99,987, taking the state’s testing rate to 3,944 per million.
* Punjab reported 21 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Monday, talking the overall tally to 2,081. Also, 15 patients were discharged in the state, taking the number of cured patents to 1,913 and the number of active cases to 128 — lesser than neighbouring Haryana, where 395 cases are active, and Himachal Pradesh, where 146 cases are active.
* Himachal Pradesh reported two deaths of Covid-19 patients and 20 fresh cases on Monday, taking the state’s casualty count to five and overall tally of positive cases to 223.
