146 deaths registered in last 24 hours taking the nationwide toll to 4167

While 4.4 deaths per lakh population have been reported for the world, India has reported about 0.3 deaths per lakh population, which is amongst the lowest in the world, , says Health Ministry adding that this has been due to lockdown, timely identification and management of COVID-19 cases.
There are several hypothesis for the lower fatality rate in India, including our better immunity and certain injections given to us etc, but we cannot say clearly on any of these factors (why the fatality rate is low), note ICMR.
Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that a total 60 thousand 490 people affected with Corona virus have cured and the recovery rate reached to 41.61 percent in the country.
During the last twenty four hours, two thousand 769 people have recovered and six thousand 535 fresh cases of COVID-19 have been reported taking the total number of cases to one lakh 45 thousand 380. Health Ministry said, 146 deaths have been registered in last 24 hours taking the nationwide toll to four thousand 167.
A total of 60,490 patients have recovered so far from COVID-19. Recovery rate continues to improve and presently it is 41.61 percent. The fatality rate is one among the lowest in the world, it is 2.87 percent now.
Uttar Pradesh State Health Dept: 197 new positive cases have been reported in last 24 hours. Number of active cases of COVID-19 rise to 2,680 in Uttar Pradesh. 3,698 people have been discharged from the disease while 170 deaths have been reported till date.
