During the test, the experts put the machine 'through its paces'.

'It's a bit fiddly to use... and the milk frothing was a little tricker than other machines,' they said.

'It doesn't have all the features of a high-end espresso machine - but if you're on a budget and you have your heart set on a manual machine, it's an option worth considering.'

Notable features of the appliance includes a single or double espresso shot option to control the strength of your brew and a high pressure milk steamer with an adjustable knob to create 'cafe-quality' coffee at home.

Many shoppers raved about the stylish budget espresso machine for producing 'brilliant coffees', saying it works just as well as any other model.

'You can't go wrong, it makes great coffee. Very easy to use and very good value ... what more could you want,' one customer said.

Another shopper who received the coffee machine as a Christmas gift said she has been using the appliance every day since.

'Although it does feel "cheap", it's going great eight months on,' she said.

'It heats up quick and holds a lot of water. The frother wand is short but with a bit of practice and the right size jug, it's fine and hot. The taste of the coffee depends on whose beans you use and the coarseness of the grind.

'Making fresh coffee is very time consuming so if you want a great cheap machine that fits into your hectic lifestyle, this is the one.'

One mother added: 'Kmart espresso machine approved by the whole family. Cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate and some babychinos for the little ones.

'It was so much fun making it all and very easy too.'
