2020 Ford Edge ST-Line Offers ST Looks Without The Performance Upgrades

You are not looking at the Ford Edge ST, but the 2020 Edge ST-Line, a model that wears a very similar jog suit yet lacks the added muscle of its hot sibling.

Targeting those who “prioritize value over performance”, it’s the latest addition to the Edge U.S. lineup, slotting above the SE and SEL, but below the Titanium and ST. Order books are already open and pricing starts at $38,100 – $5,165 less than the top-of-the-line trim level.

“Edge ST continues to break new ground with terrific styling, powerful performance and smart technology,” said the company’s SUV marketing manager, Craig Patterson. “But some customers want style and value and don’t need all of the horsepower. For them, Edge ST-Line hits the bull’s-eye – again.”

Visually, the new Edge ST-Line adopts the unique ST-style grille, body-colored bumpers, black ST belt line molding with lower sport cladding, and 20-inch glossy black aluminum wheels.

Standard equipment includes the signature LED lighting, SYNC 3 infotainment system with Waze, Ford+Alexa, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. The Edge ST-Line also comes with the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist Plus package which consists of safety systems such as evasive steering assist, enhanced active park assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop & go.

Motivation comes from the same 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-four turbocharged engine found in the entire Edge lineup, save for the ST. When running on 93-octane fuel, it produces 250 HP at 5,500 rpm and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of torque at 3,000 rpm. The engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive. The Edge ST, on the other hand, has 335 HP and 380 lb-ft (515 Nm) from a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 that is also hooked to an eight-speed auto and AWD.
