Coronavirus India updates LIVE: India has witnessed its biggest single-day spike, with 6,977 positive coronavirus cases being added and 156 more deaths being reported in the past 24 hours. These take the country's total number of Covid-19 cases to 139,911 and deaths to 4,039, according to data compiled by Worldometer.
India has entered the list of 10 most affected countries globally by overtaking Iran in total cases. Maharashtra, the most affected state, has added more than 3,000 cases in a single day, taking its tally past the 50,00-mark.
