Coronavirus cases in India has recorded a jump of 6,977 confirmed infections in the past 24 hours taking the nationwide tally to 138,845, while the death toll due to the Covid-19 has crossed the 4,000 mark, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll due to Covid-19 infection in India has surged to 4,021. This is for the fourth consecutive day that India has witnessed the biggest single-day spike in its coronavirus cases.

The active cases of the coronavirus disease rose to 77,103. While 57,720 people have recovered, one patient has migrated to another country, according to the ministry bulletin.

The total number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic includes foreigners.
