Tamil Nadu: Law college student caught breaking into Ennore house

CHENNAI: A 28-year-old law college student, who was involved in a chain of house break-ins, was arrested from Ennore on Sunday.
Gurunathan, an Ennore resident, was a student of law in a college in Tirupati. He was caught by a resident when he tried to break into a hosue in the locality on Sunday. He was handed over to police.
Police said Gurunathan targeted houses where doors were left open for respite from the sweltering heat. "He made note of houses that were kept open and targeted them the next day," said an investigating officer.
On Friday, he sneaked into the house of Paneerselvam from Annai Sivagami Nagar, who had kept the main door open, and escaped with a 3-sovereign gold chain and 80,000 cash.
Police said they are trying to find out whether he was involved in any other cases in the past.
