Guwahati: A
quarantine Centre in
Meghalaya’s
Garo hills was inundated following flash floods.
Cloud burst on Monday triggered flash flood following which people of the quarantine Center had to be shifted.
A senior official, who do not want to be named told ET, “ Waters increased by at least six feet the entire Raksamgre market in West Garo hills districts. The quarantine Center in a school in the locality was inundated. Returnees to the Garo hills are housed in this quarantine facility.”
He added that flash flood has affected 1400 people in 11 villages. Around 11 relief camps have been set up in the area.
