Amid prevalent chaos and uncertainty over access to the essential services and commodities during the lockdown, we bring you the latest updates from your city.
* Update at 11.40am: Eight flights are arriving at Guwahati airport today, with some of them landing with full passenger capacities. All passengers will be scanned for Covid-19 at the airport. People from Assam will be segregated & send to their respective district by buses: Assam minister HB Sarma. (ANI)

* Update at 11.25am: Resident commissioners of different northeastern states will receive the people of their states at Guwahati airport. They can take them to their respective bhawans or directly to the states: Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. (ANI)

* Update at 9.35am: India registers biggest single day spike of 6,977 Covid-19 cases, total tally rises to 1,38,845; death toll climbs to 4,021, reports PTI quoting Union health ministry
* West Bengal on Sunday recorded 208 fresh Covid-19 cases, the highest single-day spike yet, bringing the state’s cumulative tally to 3,667 cases, a day after virologists expressed fears of a sudden rise as a possible fallout of the cyclone.
* Domestic flights to and from Kolkata will resume from May 28 (Thursday), instead of May 25 (Monday), following a request of Bengal government on Saturday, which cited the twin crisis of Covid-19 pandemic and cyclone disaster in south Bengal. Flights to Bagdogra will also resume on May 28.
* Assam is contemplating re-sealing the inter-state borders from June 2 to check further flow of home-bound people by road as the state’s Covid-19 count surged towards the 400-mark after 32 fresh cases were added to the overnight tally of 346. Seventeen people tested positive late on Saturday night, and, along with the 32 new cases on Sunday, the total number of cases in the state stands at 378.
* Three more persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Manipur late on Saturday night, taking the total number of cases to 32. The state state currently has 28 active cases as four people have been discharged from hospitals after being cured. All three have come back from outside the state.
