TO THE EDITOR:
The slow approach on electric vehicles is the only way to go. Companies are looking at Tesla, but Tesla is unique. Ford has the right approach with the Mustang Mach-E. It's too soon to go all-in on electrics, like General Motors' plan for Cadillac.
The infrastructure is not there; the ranges are not long enough, with charge time being so long, and residential charging is even slower (even with a charging upgrade). Look what happened to Blu-ray: DVDs were good enough, cheaper and didn't have all the hassles of copyright protection.
The companies need to answer what's in it for the customer. Price, range and convenience are not there yet.
