Secretary Sumit Garg told Mirror, “On April 21, an ambulance arrived in the society to take the woman, who then tested positive for coronavirus the following day. She stays with her two sons aged 10 and 15, and her 67-year-old mother-in-law of 67, while husband works abroad.”

S ociety chairman Chetan Panchal said, “I received a call from Primary Health Center in Chandkheda that one of our members has tested positive for coronavirus. The family comprises her 55-year-old husband and son, 22, both of whom were quarantined.”
He added, “We decided to go all out and help them in the time of such crisis and provided them with food, thermometer, and other essentials. The family acted very responsibly. The patient returned home recently and advised for the home isolation of seven days.”

Mishra added that the family had gone into panic mode, but society members provided support and eased the situation. “We provided them tea, milk, food and medicines. We constantly kept in touch with their parents too. They were welcomed on their return to the society on May 16.”
Now, discharged from hospital, the husband – currently home-quarantined with his family - revealed their situation back then, “The society members really boosted our morale. Our kids did not feel alone for the 11days we were away getting treated. They were provided meals once daily by our neighbours. My condition was very serious and spent three days in ICU. I am glad they took care of us like a family.”
