Telangana CM, governor extend greetings on Eid

HYDERABAD: Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao have conveyed their greetings to the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The chief minister hoped that the sacred Ramzan month will usher in happiness among the people.
The CM has appealed to the people to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr festival indoors. He said Ramzan reflects the communal harmony and religious tolerance and is a mirror to the great Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb of Telangana state.
In view the threat of spread of coronavirus, the state government has issued orders that no congregational prayers of Eid-Ul-Fitr will be held. Neither mosques nor any places of religious worship or Idgahs would be open for congregational prayers. The lockdown in the State is up to May 31.
Ulemas and Jamia Nizamia too have called upon the Muslims not to indulge in traditional way of hugging each other wishing Eid. Muslims have been told to extend Eid greetings by maintaining physical distance.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, in her message to the people on the occasion of Eid said the teachings of holy Quran have shaped the lives of the society over the ages. “The holy Ramzan month leading to Eid-Ul-Fitr is a reminder to us of the purpose of life as ordained by God that only through rigorous self-discipline it is possible to realize the eternal life. On this holy Eid-ul-Fitr day, let us redeem our pledge to respect the dignity of human being, the sanctity of life and essence of religious preachings. Let this auspicious occasion helps us to face and come out of the critical situation of Covid-19,” she said.
