Mumbai: Metro 3 to set up 1,250 beds for Covid-19 patients

MUMBAI: The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) is constructing two Covid care facilities in Dahisar and Borivali in Western suburbs with a cumulative capacity of 1,250 beds, including some with oxygen and Intensive Care Units (ICUs).
MMRCL spokesperson said, "One isolation facility with approximately 800 beds including 200 oxygenated ones will come at Dahisar Check Naka. Another one at Kanderpada near Borivali RTO office will have 250 beds having High Dependency Units (HDU) and ICUs with dialysis facilities."
The work is being completed on a war footing and is expected to be completed in next two weeks, the spokesperson added.
Another infrastructure agency, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) too has handed over 1,008-bed Covid-19 care facility in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) with 504 beds having oxygen supply to BMC for self-critical patients last week.
Another 1,000-bed facility for critical patients is being set up by MMRDA in BKC, with 10 per cent of ICU beds.
