Glow (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) takes us through the spandex-laden world of women’s wrestling set in 1980s Los Angeles. When watching this Netflix original (which, of course, is packed with entertaining fight sequences) expect exaggerated 80s beauty looks including tons of glitter, metallic lipsticks and big, big, big hair. Warning: this show may just convince you to try a frosty blue lip.

Orange is the New Black

OITNB is big—not just in terms of its influence, followers or critical acclaim, but also for hitting the right spot when it comes to DIY beauty. Set in a women’s federal prison in New York, the show follows the struggles and life of the female inmates stuck inside. Keeping the addictive plot and powerful performances aside, the characters can also be seen finding creative ways to stay groomed while locked up. From using paper towels as makeshift rollers to creating balms out of jalapeños and using spices for contouring, the ladies of the Litchfield Correctional Institution have done it all, and are all set to turn you into a true DIY fanatic, if you aren’t one already.

A tale set in the 1980s, Pose explores New York’s LGBTQ+ and gender noncorforming ballroom dancing culture. Creator Ryan Murphy brings his vision to life with glamour, courage and drama. You'll see everything from flawlessly contoured faces and lush lashes to gold-lined eyes, beautifully sculpted brows and doll-like painted lips on the cast members. Why? Because “you have to step out on the runway like you own everything.” This show is all about going big, not going home.

Glow Up is like Project Runway, but for beauty. The reality TV show brings together a handful of aspiring makeup artists, who then compete against each other in several challenges challenges to earn the title of the best makeup artist in town. Hollywood follows a group of actors and filmmakers in the post-World War II era of the 1940s.
