Sodomy victim arrested for breaking home quarantine

LUDHIANA: The Habiowal police have arrested a 24-year-old sodomy victim for breaking home quarantine and roaming in the locality with wearing a mask. The man was allegedly sodomised by a corona positive man, who was arrested by Haibowal police on May 14.
ASI Rajan T Singh, investigating officer, said a man arrested in sodomy case had tested positive recently. Afterwards, the 24-year-old man was was sent to civil hospital for his throat swab test for Covid-19. Thereafter, the doctors had instructed him to home quarantine himself and told his parents to ensure the same.
The ASI said on Friday, some locality residents approached police saying that the youth was seen roaming in the locality and that too without a mask. Therefore, the police booked him under Sections 188 (orders duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (Malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the IPC.
The cop said his test report for coronavirus is yet to be received. He has been asked to be at home. If he tests positive, he would be taken to the isolation centre, the ASI added.
