New-Generation Subaru Outback Is Now One Of The Most Discounted Cars This Month

The coronavirus has impacted new car retailers and it has created a good buying opportunity for SUV shoppers. Consumer Reports came up with 10 cars that are selling well below sticker price and the 2020 Subaru Outback is one of the best deals for shoppers this Memorial Day weekend and likely for a few months. You can take advantage of it and get a very good deal if you are ready to buy it soon.

CR says with its analysis, car shoppers have been able to negotiate deeper discounts this month than during the same period the previous month. Subaru retailers are open this weekend and they are ready to make deals now after being closed and are even more willing to move new 2020 Outback models and make room for new vehicles arriving daily.

CR says the average discount on a new Subaru Outback is 11 percent off MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price). An example they give is the all-new 2020 Outback Limited XT turbocharged trim has an MSRP of $37,745 and the average discount is around $3,689 with a transaction price of $34,056. These prices do not include a $1,010 destination and delivery fees.

Torque News checked local Subaru retailers in our area around Denver, Colorado, and found they have more Subaru Outback models on their lots than any other vehicle in the all-wheel-drive stable. The Outback is made at the Subaru plant in Lafayette, Indiana, and retailers already had a large inventory of the multi-purpose wagons before the coronavirus shut things down.

Subaru is advertising no-interest financing for 63 months on the 2020 Outback and also has special lease deals on the wagon. Keep in mind Subaru does not advertise any discounts as Subaru retailers cannot advertise prices below the invoice due to strict advertising rules with Subaru of America.

If you can negotiate, you can get around an11 percent discount off the advertised price. You might even get the salesperson to throw in some accessories at no charge like body side molding, an air deflector, cargo net, and touch up paint if you ask.
