Patiala: Kingpin of Illicit liquor trade arrested in late-night operation

PATIALA: In a late light operation the Patiala police have arrested Dipesh Kumar the Kingpin of illicit Liquor Factory at village Gandian in Shambu from City Rajpura.
He was wanted in case FIR 54 registered under Section 61 Excise Act, 420, 465, 468, 471, 120 B, 188, 269 IPC and Section 10 Disaster Management Act at police station Shambu Patiala. He was produced a local court which remanded him in police custody for six days.
The busting of the illicit liquor manufacturing unit at Shambhu had brought to light the nexus between the local politicians and the criminals who were running the illicit liquor trade from the premises of cold storage.
Meanwhile, the SAD leader Prem Singh Chandumajra on Saturday demanded that the government should nab the masterminds of the illegal liquor factory which was caught recently and conduct an investigation under section 120B.
Chandumajra also appealed to the police administration that Amrik Singh, one of the main accused in the case was given shelter in his house by Congress MLA, while it was the duty of the MLA to inform the police. He demanded police investigators should look into this aspect also.
