Coronavirus lockdown: Odd-even rule for Patna shops

PATNA: District magistrate Kumar Ravi on Friday allowed the shops and commercial establishments dealing in essential commodities, except in containment zones, to open every day till 6pm only.
Patna DM has divided different types of shops into six categories. “All automobile service centres and shops dealing in grocery items, dairy, raw meat and fish and essential services, including e-commerce and home delivery, will open every day till 6pm,” the DM said, adding the new relaxations will be implemented from Monday.
“Each shop will be given a number by the market owners and, accordingly, half of the shops will be opened on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the remaining on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays,” Ravi said. In order to prevent crowd in the markets, the district administration has also marked staggered timings and days for shopping establishments to open. While shops dealing in electrical and electronics, automobile, raw material, pollution under control certificate centres and private offices with 33% employees will be opened on Monday, Wednesday and Friday while shops dealing in utensils, textile, jewellery, furniture, sports items and private clinics have been allowed to open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
