A p-plater who allegedly fled from police at over 170km/h with three children under the age of seven in her minivan has been arrested.

Officers spotted the Mazda MPV at 9.30pm on Thursday travelling along Yarrie Lake Road in Narrabri, northern NSW, and allegedly attempted to pull the car over.

After the 32-year-old driver allegedly failed to stop, officers gave chase as the car reached speeds of up to 170km/h in the 100km/h area.

During the chase a man jumped out of the front passenger seat and ran from police.

The Mazda was allegedly brought to a stop on Bridge Street shortly after and police arrested the 32-year-old driver.

When police inspected the minivan they allegedly found a two-year-old boy unrestrained in the backseat.

A four-month-old girl and a seven-year-old boy were also alleged to be in the car at the time.

The 32-year-old driver was charged with a string of offences including police pursuit, P2 driver exceed speed more than 45kmh and driving with an unrestrained child between the age of 6 months and 4-years-old.  

She was refused bail and will appear at Moree Local Court on Friday.

'The children are in the care of relatives and a child at risk notification has been made,' police said in a statement.

Police are still searching for the passenger who fled during the chase and encourage anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
