Chandigarh: Bapu Dham Colony gets sample collection centre

CHANDIGARH: To facilitate more testing in Bapu Dham colony, where fresh Covid-19 cases are being reported, UT administration on Thursday decided to set up a local sample collection centre in a government school in the area.
The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired by UT administrator V P Singh Badnore. The administrator directed all doctors and officers to devote their full energy and resources in Bapu Dham Colony. He suggested use of local volunteers to detect suspected cases to be sent for testing. The administrator directed officials concerned to carry out aggressive and intensive screening of all pockets in the buffer zone and take people facing risk to quarantine centres wherever necessary.
The UT administrator also expressed satisfaction with substantial improvement in recovery rate of Covid-19 patients (77%) and doubling rate of 39 days. UT adviser Manoj Parida stated that necessary arrangements are being made to screen passengers who will arrive in the city after resumption of regular bus, train and flight services.
